You had some of them out of order, but all the songs were there.

I was at the same show, and judging by the angle of your photos, i was probably one of those "tall people" you were annoyed by. I was actually the one that screamed out "Kim we love you" in between songs.

I also was able to meet Joey Santiago after the show when he went outside for a cigarette. I got him to autograph my copy of the album of the show and when i asked about getting anyone else to sign it, he said that there was an "afterparty show" and that there wouldn't be anyone coming out for a while because of that.

It was my search for more info about the "afterparty show" which led me here, a little over 2 years later.fearthegeckohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13898796937680868659noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1896832578282022815.post-68726419334889677562011-11-25T11:54:38.322-05:002011-11-25T11:54:38.322-05:00So good.So good.kevinhttp://swellco2000.com/2011/11/ode-cory-smoot/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1896832578282022815.post-37244983132927699862011-11-25T11:50:52.737-05:002011-11-25T11:50:52.737-05:00Man, this looks like it was a cool show.Man, this looks like it was a cool show.kevinhttp://swellco2000.com/2011/11/ode-cory-smoot/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1896832578282022815.post-25075127390271939782011-11-12T20:56:00.324-05:002011-11-12T20:56:00.324-05:00graceland by paul simon, probably. they played it ...graceland by paul simon, probably. they played it at the blind pig too. how was it in nj? i thought the mix could've used more clarity but maybe they were going for a numbing sound, because after all, it is a sound about being brokenhearted.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1896832578282022815.post-50203836462149795232011-11-05T16:03:30.552-04:002011-11-05T16:03:30.552-04:00Thanks for posting everything, vids, pics, show re...Thanks for posting everything, vids, pics, show review...it's like the next best thing to being there. And maybe this L-heads show was five godzillion times better than the shitshow they threw down the night before but they still pretty much sucked. While the band did play every song from It’s a Shame… they were minimally (maybe even un-) rehearsed on those songs, playing on gear that doesn’t seem to work (the bass dropped out of about three tunes during the early portion of the show, despite a phalanx of worried-looking roadies switching out patch cords and bass guitars at a clip of about one a song) and singing tunes on vocal chords that seem reduced to a roughly five-note range. Rock bottom: the band pulls a complete stranger out of the crowd to sing Mrs. Robinson and – although she’s game – she really doesn’t know the words and (get this) neither does the band! A shambles, it seems.

Then a weird thing happens and it’s got very little to do with the L-heads and everything to do with the crowd (or what’s left of it – see below) and the love they hold for these tunes that they collectively refuse to let the show crash and burn. Evan strums the acoustic guitar and the crowd basically holds him in its lap and sings along with every tune, picking him up at every turn, finding the beauty in what had seemed like an ugly, ugly night. Suddenly there is a feeling of weird we-don’t-care-how-fuckin-fucked-up-you-are warmth in the room and then the band comes back out and they actually really nail a few tunes, giving the people who had stayed a tiny taste of what might have been, before more stage shenanigans involving the (still shirted) members of the opening band. By now about 25% of the original crowd is on hand and when the band goes off even they are done. No encore – not because the band’s too done in or because the club said it’s too late – but because no one really wants one. Kinda sad.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1896832578282022815.post-10623874265262357672011-09-07T11:47:20.412-04:002011-09-07T11:47:20.412-04:00hey that's great. I'm a HUGE fan of BOTH bands, but Rise Against just beats them by a landslide, and are a far more popular band. Bad Religion has a more pseudo-cult following. Rise Against has an actual mainstream fan-base. Far better band than BR.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1896832578282022815.post-51346469562747484222011-05-15T12:21:07.166-04:002011-05-15T12:21:07.166-04:00Lude Boy, not Luke Warm.Lude Boy, not Luke Warm.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1896832578282022815.post-9151002078210400162011-05-08T23:35:17.472-04:002011-05-08T23:35:17.472-04:00I saw the opening night show in Vegas. It was such a pro Rise Against crowd it wasnt even funny. The venue kinda sucks and the sound was crappy, and Rise Against Fans are still scratching their heads as to who that band was that went on before Rise Against. Found a half way decent spot on the second floor- I had a clear view of PJ, somewhat ok view of 1 of the other 3 musicians (Mick Harvey- sometimes I could see him, sometimes I couldn't- depending on which way 3 or so people to my right along the railing were weaving)and could see the other 2 musicians occassionally if I craned and tippy-toed.

Third floor for re-positioing. Front and center, 3 people back from the railing: the tall person directly in front of me left literally within a minute after we got there. Another person departed a few minutes later. The the last half-ish of the concert and we had a great- full stage view, one short person in front of us- easy to see over her.

The side railings really do blow. They should do some kind of step down so that more people can see. (Anyone see anyone go animal like and crawl down to the floor so they are sitting or crouching under the people that are standing along the railing? It's so weird. I kneed a girl who tried that at Dead Weather concert. If she had been polite about it, it would have been ok- but she was obnoxious- and strange.)

Hally- you could have been one of those strange animal like creatures, taking your seat, dangling your legs, from the third floor (so long as you had been polite about it).

Yes it was too warm.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1896832578282022815.post-90462176851774198292011-04-20T09:52:10.111-04:002011-04-20T09:52:10.111-04:00I got there around 8:00 and was stuck on the groun...I got there around 8:00 and was stuck on the ground level with all the other late-comers. Let me tell you, in contrast you're experience sounds like heaven! It was pretty well impossible to see PJ from my perspective (you'd get a decent view then someone would move their head and you'd go back to playing peek-a-boo), it was torturously hot, people were crammed in so tight and of course talking, taking pictures of themselves, texting - doing anything but paying attention to the show. She sounded so great - one of the best live vocals I've ever heard - but my friend and I cut out after "C'mon Billy" because we just couldn't take it anymore.
